Ste Anne’s Spa is one of my favorite places to go. I have spent the night there a handful of times, but mostly I take the day spa get away option. A day there makes me feel like I have been away for days, and all the stress and worries from “the real world” melt away and are put into perspective. This high-end cottage retreat can only be described as magical.
I usually make my Ste Anne’s trips a girl’s getaway where we can catch up and be pampered. This time however I went with my significant other. We had had so much on the go, professionally, academically and personally we thought a quiet and pampering day at the spa was well overdue. As it was his first time at the spa, he had no idea what to expect – but I think he had a great time.
Once you arrive at the spa the stone and country vibe washes over you and the hustle bustle of life in Toronto becomes a distant memory. We checked in, changed into our robes and flip flops ready to explore the grounds.
On top of the treatment (we got massages) there is a eucalyptus steam room (my personal favorite), and outside hot tub with a cold plunge and lap pool adjacent to it. The change rooms have hot tubs and steam rooms for usage as well. In the summer there is an outside pool overlooking the country lands.
In the room where you wait to be called for your treatment there are massage chairs available for use – and I was happy to find adult coloring books. There are quiet rooms and lounges with comfy couches, tea, coffee, water, fruit and granola available.
We had a 3-course lunch which was delicious and an afternoon tea with amazing snacks and deserts. There are walking trails, wellness classes you can register for, stables where you can interact with the horses and a fitness studio on the grounds. We didn’t check these out but perhaps we will in the summer – because I am already itching to return.
If you are in the GTA or neighboring cities/towns I highly recommend taking some time to practice self care and check out Ste Anne’s.
