This product was provided for review purposes but my opinions are all mine!
I had a polaroid camera back in the 90’s and I LOVED it! I had so much fun snapping ridiculous photos and waiting for them to develop.
I still love taking pictures, but with digital cameras and smartphones everything is instant and you can take hundreds at a time to get a perfect shot. As much as I love technological advances, there is something nostalgic about candid, imperfect shots that come with the anticipation of waiting for them to develop.
When TOMY reached out to see if I wanted to try out KiiPix – a smart phone printer – I couldn’t have been more thrilled to see something on the market that combines my fond memories of my past picture taking with the convenience and technology of today!
According to TOMY
- No wifi, batteries or cords required
- Place film, place phone and print
- Any picture on your phone is now printable with KiiPix
- Take it anywhere with the add in compact fold
According to Me
Once I figured out all the parts (didn’t take long) this was very easy to sue. No batteries, no cords – just pick the photo, place on the device, select and twist out the film. The photo develops quickly (totally having flashbacks to the 90s). Also you can use any picture as long it fits into the frame — so your facebook tags and instagrams are fair game!
The pictures come out really great. The device is portable, but bulky – so I wouldn’t say it’s a toss and go sort of device. However I think it’s great to take to the cottage, family event or parties to hand out some fun candid pictures! I am just getting the hang of it and I think I am going to have so much fun with the KiiPix.
