Skin care in my 30’s

As much as I try to deny it, my skin will not lot me forget that I am in my late 30’s. For most of my life I was lucky – I had even, fresh skin that very rarely punished me with blemishes. Now my skin is dry, dull, blotchy and overall tired looking. It has finally taken a stand to let me know that it will no longer tolerate inconsistent and haphazard treatment.

I have been trying to be more consistent with a morning and nighttime skincare. Although bad habits die hard, I think I have been relatively successful over the past 6 months.

Morning Routine

  1. Wake up and hit snooze a ridiculous amount of times
  2. Wash my face with a cleansing oil, most recently Deciem’s Hylamide High Efficiency Face Cleanser
  3. Pat my face dry
  4. Hydrate with a light serum, most recently Deciem’s Caffeine Solution
  5. Moisturize with a face lotion, most recently Deciem’s Natural Moisturizing Factors + HA
  6. Apply primer and makeup as per usual

Nighttime Routine

  1. Remove eye make up, I like Nivea MicellAIR makeup remover
  2. Remove makeup and residue with cleansing gel, I like NeoStrata Detoxifying Micellar Gel
  3. Massage face with a facial cleanser brush head, I have been using Lifebrands’s Mini Facial Cleansing Kit
  4. Wash face with hydrating cleanser (most recently I have been using Vichy) and facial scrub brush head
  5. Pat my face dry
  6. Apply hydrating serum, most recently Deciem’s Hyaluronic Acid
  7. Moisturize with a hyrdating face lotion

I have years of abuse for my skin to forgive me for still, but I think if I continue to be consistent with my care routine and choose quality products I will be able to continue to keep my skin looking fresh and even.

Let me know in the comments what some of your favorite tips, tricks and products are.
